Are breast implants suitable for me?
In general, women who prefer a larger chest have two options to choose from: breast implants or breast fat transfer. Being the latter, a liposuction to move the fat of areas such as the stomach, thighs and thus increase the volume of the breasts.
Although the transfer of fat increases the breasts, women who look for an appearance similar to implants, will not succeed because they are different fillings. They are different treatments and for patients who have different wishes.
Women who seek breast fat transfer rather than implants tend to “prefer a smaller size and shape adjustment,” adds Dr. Diana. With fat transfer, increases are typically one cup size or less; with implants, most can expect one cup or more.
Costs and procedures
The cost of the work of breast implants depends on the location, the history of the doctor and the type of implant used.
Generally, the surgery ranges from $ 6,325 to $ 10,000. As the operation is a cosmetic procedure, health insurance does not cover breast augmentation.
An important fact to take, is that because the breasts continue to develop in a woman from her adolescence to 20 years. The FDA requires that they be at least 18 years old to be implanted with saline solution, and at least 22 years for silicone implants.
When choosing your surgeon, look for one that has your history and proven experience. You may not have complications with a surgeon who has had at least five years of surgical training and at least two years of experience in plastic surgery.
Before your breast implant procedure, you should meet with your surgeon for a medical evaluation. You can talk about what you want and get help from the doctor. Your surgeon may ask you to stop taking certain medications a few weeks or days after your surgery.
